Date – Tuesday 22nd January 2019
Venue – Langley School, Langley Park, Norwich, NR14 6BJ

Location
Langley School is situated just off the A146 Norwich to Beccles Road to the south of Norwich.

Course
The course is flat and uses 2 of the fields close to the Langley School main playing field. Simple courses have been drawn up which are suitable for spikes. Course maps will be available on the day.

Timetable
Please see an enclosed timetable at the end of this information sheet. As this is the first year that these coursed have been used for the county championships the start times are approximate and may well differ slightly on the day. Athletes should be instructed to get to the start area to warm up at least 10 minutes before the stated start time of their race,

Parking
Minibuses and coaches will be parked on the main drive way of Langley School close to the Salisbury Arch. There will be some volunteers from Langley School staff helping with the parking on the day. Cars can be parked on the main Langley School car park once again directed by Langley School staff.

Entry Arrangements
Entries should be sent in before the day of the championships. Entry for the championships should be through an area secretary following on from an area championships where the best runners from the area championships qualify to run for their area at the Norfolk Schools cross country event. If no championships are held for whatever reason then entries can be taken from individual schools. This must be done in advance by contacting Simon Bowman at Thorpe St. Andrew School. In this situation though please only enter your best runners who you think would be at a suitable level to compete at a County schools event.
Runners should be declared on the day by a team manager who is responsible for collecting the finishing disc from their runners at the end of the race, and handing it in to the chief recorder so results can be compiled accurately.

Changing Facilities
There are limited changing and toilet facilities available at the school. It would be advisable to ask your athletes to arrive at the venue already changed.

Selection of county teams
The first 12 in each race will be selected to compete for Norfolk in the Anglian Schools cross country championships. This year the Anglian Schools championships are taking place on Saturday 2rd February at Abingdon Park in Northampton hosted by Northamptonshire Schools AA. The teams for the English Schools championships taking place in Leeds on Saturday March 16th will be selected from the performances at the Norfolk and the Anglian Schools championships. Please note that there is no race for the year 7 age group at the English Schools championships.

Affiliations
Following on from the Newletter that was sent out to schools in November 2018, just a reminder that only schools who have paid an affiliation to the Norfolk Schools AA for the 2019 cross country and athletics events are eligible to take part in the 2019 cross country championships. An affiliation form was sent out with the newsletter.
